Competition Structure
Junior cricket competitions in the ACT are based on competency and skill level rather than age based. Cricket ACT provides multiple exciting programs and competitions for kids aged from 9 – 17 as follows;
Junior Competitions (9 – 17 years old) Kids play in organised cricket competitions in T20 & One Day games under Cricket Australia’s Junior Formats guidelines.
1. Stage 1 Formats (9 & 10 years old) – U11’s
2. Stage 2 Formats (11 & 12 years old) – U13’s
3. Stage 3 Formats (13 – 14 years old) – U15’s
Colts (indicatively Under 16’s to under 18’s) is also part of stage 3 with games generally played on a Sunday along with mid-week T20 games fortnightly. All stage 3 players who are not involved in a colt’s team are invited and encouraged to play for them when they are in need of fill-in players throughout the season.
All competitions described above are mixed competitions open to both girls and boys.
