Dear TVCC Friends and Family,
It is with great pride, and a hint of sadness, that we farewell Michael Barrington who is moving to Adelaide to further his career with the SACA.
Michael and his family have been an enormous part of our community, and that of CACT, over many years. As a local junior, Michael was heavily involved in the youth representative pathway and his leadership skills were identified early. This is reflected with him being named captain on multiple occasions as a youth representative player.
Overtime, Michael progressed to become a tough, respected and successful First Grade player, and then went on to become TVCC First Grade Captain. He also represented the ACT in the Futures League – two of the greatest achievements available to players within the ACT.
Michael’s capacity to improve, motivate and empower the people around him are well known, and were formally recognised by the club recently with him being named as Captain of our most recent Team of the Decade. It is well known that his counselling of leaders who followed him as a captain have benefitted greatly from his presence as the ‘Minister For Common Sense’.
We also need to acknowledge Liz, Julian and Justin for their support of the club. Whether it be through playing cricket, sponsoring cricket or administrating cricket… your collective love and care for TVCC is greatly respected and appreciated.
We have no doubt that the SACA has recruited an amazing person, as well as an excellent Sport Science practitioner.
